Donavon Frankenreiter

For nearly four decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been travelling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. Born in Southern California, Donavon spent most of his youth chasing waves, turning pro at the age of 16.

These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that brings Frankenreiter to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics and soulful delivery.

You can find him touring the world with his three-piece band and still catching waves anytime he can.

Iris & The Shade

Iris And The Shade are an acoustic and indie retro rock duo out of Southern California. Highlights for the year were being scheduled to open for the iconic band The Lovin’ Spoonful in September and on December 9th 2022 they opened for BERLIN.  They are also opening all the end of the year shows for Donavon Frankenreiter starting at the Belly Up Tavern on December 27th in Solana Beach and ending with a New Year's Eve Show at SOhO in Santa Barbara!  In light of their love for the holidays and these shows, they just released their new song “Rather Have You For Christmas” produced by Matt Costa . . .  With the Indy Pop sensibilities in the spirit of The Head and the Heart, and vocals that harken to Stevie Nicks and Dolly Parton, Iris and the Shade are uniquely their own. Shedding light and sun-drenched wisdom, “Caterpillar Wings” (their debut album) is timeless.  The natural cadence of the duo’s melodic wisdom is apparent in standout tracks like Comatose (Jessica's Song) or the yacht rock groove of Allergic to the Smoke.  They met after Chase (the guitarist and sometimes vocalist) tripped Iris at a bar to say hello. Then seven months later they lived in an apartment and painted the walls a deep-sea blue while playing music and eventually calling their first E.P. “The Blue Room”. Acoustic tracks like Moonlight and Dreams are like a river holding onto love amidst the wild world we all live in.  New music and Summer tour coming in 2023.
