BRASS MASH

Brass Mash is a powerhouse horn band that performs all of your favorite tunes from the 1960s-Today. Whether GenX, GenZ or Millennial you’ll be guessing all of our throwbacks, super jams and power ballads with your nearby strangers. Think you’ll show up and cross your arms?… bring sensible shoes because Brass Mash does not let up on the dance floor!

Known to bring any crowd to its feet, the Brass Mash style blends or "mashes" two or more songs at a time. These compositions cross both genres and decades, creating a live guessing game for audiences to 'name that tune'. Britney Spears and Black Sabbath? Check. Lorde and Dr. Dre? Got that too. Daft Punk and ZZ Top? Wildest dreams are manifested through a unique vocal and saxophone talk box duet.

Comprised of San Luis Obispo musicians, the band has performed throughout SLO county since its formation in 2015. Brass Mash plays a very popular First Friday event at Liquid Gravity Brewing in San Luis Obispo. Brass Mash has enjoyed playing a variety of stages including Live Oak Music Festival, Whalerock Music Festival, SLO Brew, Mission Plaza & The Siren

BRASSCALS

We are Brasscals!, Santa Barbara’s one-and-only street brass band. Our unique sound gets crowds moving with an explosion of acoustic joy that spans a variety of genres, from funk and jazz to klezmer, Balkan, pop, Latin and even some originals. Brasscals! is a lively group made up of 14+ members, ages 21 to 87, from the Santa Barbara community. The band boasts a wide roster of talent – including woodwinds, brass, a banjo, a washboard, and one bull horn. United by a shared love of music, Brasscals’ diverse, multigenerational membership is what makes this band so special. We are a very portable band; we can play while on the move, have minimal set-up, and don't need electricity. Our high-energy shows encourage crowd participation to increase the fun factor, break down the barrier between “performer” and “audience” and enliven the masses.
